i'll admit, i'm a luddite even though i love technology. i think people need to stop for a second and make sure the technology they're using is actually improving their lives, rather than just making things faster and easier. sure facebook and email are great, but only as a supplement to in person interaction with people, not a replacement.

oil rig accidentally drains entire louisiana lake

one small calculation error causes an oil rig to hit an underground mine, sucking the entire lake and several boats into the hole. oops.
