i have a love/hate relationship with technology. when it makes my life better, i love it. when it invades my life or makes it more difficult, i hate it. today i was reminded that there are certain places you should not be able to check your email, like 10,000 feet above sea level at the top of mt. lassen. that kind of instantaneous access to the world ruins the mystery of being at the end of the earth, in the middle of nowhere. the geek in me of course couldn't resist, but the luddite in me felt dirty.
