i watched the grapes of wrath recently. it's a classic movie i definitely recommend, and i just realized how appropriate it is with the current economy. it makes you think about how bad things could get or how bad it might already be for some people.

i created TomatoCam the other day to help a friend find out what's eating her tomatoes. when it gets dark out TomatoCam takes a picture every hour. nothing too complicated but it was a fun challenge to get it working. i'll write up a project page with more detailed info when i get it back. for now, here's my friend's page.

it's slightly colder, a little windier, and the days are getting shorter. fall is here. where did my summer go? i'm not a fan of fall and winter, but really only because the days are so short. wake up and it's dark, get home and it's dark. it's depressing. other than that they're decent seasons, lots of holidays and hot chocolate and such.
