i think i need to watch ghost busters tonight. it's halloween y'all.

just watched easy rider for the first time. between that and deliverance i'm never going to venture out into the country in southern states.

here's a satellite picture of the smoke from the san diego fires. pretty crazy, the smoke is almost all the way up the coast to santa cruz. my grandparents had to evacuate but their house is ok for now.

i just noticed that when you put a city name into google and then click on the map that shows up, a list of popular searches in that city come up. if you're a local, the ones for santa cruz are interesting because of how popular they are (sanderlings? wtf?) and how wrong they are (mystery point?)

chai is a wonderful thing. i worked late last night, then was up from 1-3am working on a dead site, and got 4 hours of sleep. now i'm in an all-day traning session. thanks to the powers of chai i'm not asleep under my desk. let's hope i'm not so full of caffeine that i can't get to sleep tonight.

you know what's disconcerting? walking downtown between large skyscrapers when you hear the roar of a jet REALLY close by, and everyone starts looking around in a panic waiting for an explosion. then you see it's the blue angels buzzing the city. thanks for the heart attack guys, my tax dollars at work.
